PROJECT OVERVIEW
Munchmakers
Munchmakers is an ecommerce platform specializing in customized cannabis accessories and gears, allowing B2B and B2C to design and create their own accessories through an intuitive customization tool integrated into the website.
By integrating a design tool into the online store, Munchmakers aimed to differentiate itself from competitors, attract a broader audience, and increase customer engagement and loyalty.

THE MOTIVATION
In the competitive landscape of ecommerce, providing customers with the ability to personalize their products has become increasingly vital. Customization not only enhances the shopping experience but also fosters a sense of ownership and uniqueness among consumers.
The motivation behind implementing a customization tool was twofold for Munchmakers. Firstly, the company recognized the growing demand for personalized products in the market. Consumers were seeking ways to express their individuality and create products tailored to their preferences.
Secondly, Munchmakers understood the potential of customization to drive sales and revenue growth. By allowing customers to design their own, the company could tap into new revenue streams and capitalize on the trend of experiential shopping.
THE PROBLEM
However, despite recognizing the benefits of a design tool, I (assigned to take charge of this project) and the developers encountered several challenges:
Technical Integration: Integrating a robust customization tool into the existing ecommerce platform proved to be a complex task. We had to ensure seamless compatibility between the design tool and the website's infrastructure to deliver a smooth user experience.
User Interface Design: Designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface for the customization tool was essential to encourage engagement and adoption. We faced the challenge of striking the right balance between simplicity and functionality to cater to users of varying technical abilities.
THE SOLUTION
By collaborating closely with the development team, we ensured that the design tool seamlessly integrated with the website and met its performance requirements.
Prioritizing user experience and incorporating user feedback into the design process, we created a simple but user-friendly interface that catered to the diverse needs of its customer base.
RESEARCH AND PROTOTYPE
After developing our concept fully with our team, I decided to move on to research. This included paper prototyping research which involved creating user flows to begin, then making wireframes and testing them out.
Once I got further into the process of design, I started to put more emphasis on the overall look and feel of the UI and Visual design of Munchmakers including the look for the mobile version.

IMPLEMENTATION
The final design output was prototypes. Munchmakers design tool feature is under testing stage. Functionality needs work and developers are in the process of fixing.
However, here's a quick walkthrough of the design assets I created using Figma demonstrating how the design tool work within the Munchmakers website.
